Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea Invite 400 Millionth Guest Today
The total of guests entering Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea surpassed the 400 million mark today. The milestone was reached when a guest entered the gates at Tokyo DisneySea at 10:35am. The number was attained after 23 years and 200 days. Tokyo Disneyland opened on April 15th, 1983.
A very surprised Aiko Hironaka was presented with a bouquet of flowers as she passed the main entrance. She couldn't help but smile as she was led on a special sea-themed "blue carpet" to a specially-setup stage while the Tokyo DisneySea Maritime Band played on. She was formally announced as the 400 millionth guest and greeted by Mickey Mouse.
"We want to continue our efforts to let our guests live the dream," Oriental Land President Yoshiro Fukushima quoted on the Mainichi Shimbun.
The guest received a certificated commemorating the milestone, a special 3-year passport which can be used in both parks and a Mickey Mouse stuffed doll.
