Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea Parks Attendance Figures for Fiscal Year 2005
URAYASU, CHIBA - The total combined attendance at Tokyo Disneyland Park and Tokyo DisneySea Park for fiscal year 2005 (April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006) amounted to 24,766,000 persons, or 99.0% of last year's attendance. Since Tokyo Disneyland Park first opened in April 1983, a total of 385,199,000 persons have visited the two Parks.
The combined attendance for the Parks in fiscal year 2005 was expected to exceed last fiscal year's figures due to the opening of Raging Spirits, the first major attraction to be installed in Tokyo DisneySea since the Park opened. However, the Aichi World Exposition, which ran from March 25 through September 25, drew a far higher number of visitors than was projected and adversely affected attendance in the first half of the fiscal year.
In the second half of the fiscal year, strong marketing campaigns were developed to offset the attendance losses of the first half. Unfortunately, due to record low temperatures over the winter, overall attendance at the two Parks did not quite equal that of the previous fiscal year.
The number of days that both Parks were in operation in fiscal year 2005 was 365 days.
For Reference: Fiscal Year 2004 Park Attendance (Tokyo Disneyland Park and Tokyo DisneySea Park guests ages 4 and above) 25,021,000 persons (April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2005)
