SHOW DESCRIPTION
The show begins with a procession of water vessels entering Porto Paradiso in Mediterranean
Harbor. Five dolphin-faced jetskis lead followed by a boat with the Sultan, Aladdin, Jasmine
and Abu. Next are 4 floating barges each with a harem(?) of lovely dancers.
The Sultan makes a speech thanking everyone for welcoming them to Porto Paradiso. He introduces
Aladdin and then Jasmine, BUT... at that moment, we see Jafar's float! Jafar wants to get his
revenge for his defeat to Aladdin in Agrabah. He sends out his evil jetskis to surround the
other boats. Jafar notices that he has the Sultan and Jasmine corners too, and evily proclaims,
"How convenient!"
Aladdin is being chased everywhere and we finally hear him yell out for his trusty friend, the
Genie! But he appears in the harem's floats, wrong place! Finally, he appears out of his giant
lamp on the Sultan's boat. He complains about the catfighting between Aladdin and Jafar and is,
honestly, getting tired of the whole thing. He suggests a more friendly confrontation with the
Agrabah Cup water sports competition. Why? Because according to the Genie, "The show was written
this way!"
He transforms himself into a boxing referee in a Genie-faced vessel. He is accompanied by the
judges for today's events. Napoleon Bonaparte, Galileo Galilei, Julius Caesar and his companion,
Cleopatra. "Today's competition is brought to you by the Local Merchants Association and the
National Meat Producers Association," proclaims the Genie, and the games begin!
Heat 1 "ACROBAT" is ON! The pop song "Wild Thing" starts up and the jetski riders from both teams perform
aquatic stunts flipping and turning and splashing and squirting water everywhere! It's time for
the judges to decide: Napoleon says, "The word 'impossible' is not in the French language!" and
votes for Aladdin's team. Galileo says, "And yet it moves!" and also votes for Aladdin. Caesar
cries out, "And even you, Brutus?" but votes for Jafar's team. Aladdin wins heat one!
Heat 2 "SLALOM" begins with a couple of human-powered pedal boats. However, while the judges and the Genie
get distracted. Some of Jafar's jetski fiends splash water all over Aladdin's members and cause one
of the crew to fall off and fall way behind. All three judges, seeing that Jafar's boat crossed the
finish line first, voted his team the winner of heat 2.
Now it's time for our half-time show/cheering section begins with Genie leading as a cheerleader.
There are also a number of cheerleaders in the Guest seating areas cheering for Aladdin's side. The
'80s pop hit "Holding Out for a Hero" plays, too. But before long, the deciding heat 3 is about to
begin...SPEED!
Two powerboats race into to port and race through a number of laps. They are basically in a dead heat
for about 4 laps before they disappear under Ponte Vecchio. After a few seconds, Aladdin team's boat
re-appears as the winner of heat 3! It's all made official when the judges proclaim it the overall
winner of the Agrabah Cup, too.
Jafar, obviously, is not very happy. Now he's going to show his real power! A cloud of smoke bursts out
of his vessel and he is transformed into a cobra! It is in the form of an inflated kite and soars over
Porto Paradiso menacing and threatening everyone! The Genie asks everyone to cheer for Aladdin! Finally,
Jafar's Cobra succumbs and crashes down into water.
Everyone is safe again and Aladdin thanks Genie, once again, for saving him and everyone else. The Sultan
says, "Let's celebrate a Whole New World together with Aladdin and Jasmine!" At this point, the magic
carpet is elevated (with the use of a crane) over the water carrying them. They fly around the port to the
famous theme song. Jafar appears at the end waving a white flag. All the boats, barges, floats line up as
the Genie appears as two giant balloons in the middle of the port. Mickey and Minnie make a token appearance
dressed in "Arabesque" garb to greet the Guests. Finally, they all sail off into the sunset.
